Four Tips For Spring Outfits- How to make soft colors stand out

Whether you’re planning a spring family session, or you just love the light & airy photography style, you really can’t go wrong with soft pastel colors when planning outfits for your family session! Here are a few quick tips that will help you make those soft colors really pop!

  1. Mix it up. There are so many gorgeous colors that come in pastel tones, and although they may seem like subtle differences compared to bolder colors, I promise you that choosing multiple colors makes a BIG difference!
  2. Take advantage of a pattern or two. Patterns are a wonderful way to coordinate without being too matchy! A pastel floral or stripe beside a similar solid color really works together beautifully.
  3. Don’t forget about textures! Eyelets, ruffles and lace are all beautiful, soft textures that add interest to your images.
  4. A little contrast makes a big impact. Having one family member dressed in a darker tone, or mixing in a few bolder accessories, can really level up the look of your outfits! Jean jackets, bows, ties or even pants can all be small areas where contrast makes your softer tones stand out all the more.

As a visual learner myself, I’ve added some pretty example images below. Make sure you scroll through- maybe you’ll find the perfect spring session inspiration!
